Yarra Valley is a region east of Melbourne, Australia. It surrounds the Yarra River which is 90 kilometres east of Melbourne. Being one of the world's premier wine growing regions with aproximately 80 cellar doors, Yarra Valley has a very well developed tourism, especially enotourism.



Having a cool climate and enough sun, the region is mostly famous in producing the best Yarra Valley wine ever, Chardonnay. Until recently, Australian Chardonnay was famous for it's buttery, oak taste, but the best Yarra Valley wine has a rather fruity taste, emphasizing the high acidity. Nowadays, some of the best acid-driven styles of Chardonnay are produced in Yarra Valley. Pinot Noir is another mark of wine making in Yarra Valley.
Because of this practice, the amazing landscapes and climate, enotourism flourishes in Yarra Valley, attracting over 1 million visitors a year. Wine tours are organised so visitors can see how the best Yarra Valley wine is produced. They can also taste it, and even purchase some directly from the cellars.

Yarra Valley is a rather interesting place. It has a a lot of cafes, restaurants that serve some of the best Yarra Valley wine along with amazing food, galleries, markets and a lot more attractions you can enjoy in. Moreover, it offers breath taking mountain views, that literally trick you into going mountain climbing. There are also national parks in Yarra Valley; familiarize yourself with the safety measures first if you wish to visit them.

Yarra Valley is not a very large place; you can easily make a tour of your own driving through the main 3 highways: Malba, Marrondah and Warburton.You can also visit Yarra's villages Healsville, Warburton and Yarra glen, where you can eat in any of the many restaurants, have coffee, visit some local vineries and chocolate factories!


There is also a large choice of acommodation in Yarra Valley. Hotels, villas, and bungallows are on your disposal for any size of groups and for any budget.

Do your research on Yarra Valley and get the basic touring routes. Than confuse your GPS and get lost in Yarra.. you'll experience amazing time, see wonderful things and even encounter some inquisitive kangaroos along the way!
