Camping is a delightful activity that
can be enjoyed as a couple, with the family and with a group of
friends. As camping usually involves sleeping outdoors in the
countryside or forest, campers need to bring along the right camping
equipment for shelter as well as to have a more comfortable
experience.
If this is your first time camping and
you are not sure what you should pack in your gear bin, here is a
list of some of the essentials you will need for a comfortable
camping adventure.
Tent
When it comes to selecting the right
tent, you need to consider the number of people that will be sleeping
on it and then choose accordingly. With that in mind, you can move to
the next step which is deciding the features that fit into your
pocket. Features to look for include easy transportation and setup,
weather compatibility and water resistance. Together with the tent,
you should also consider getting a tarp tent. It is a versatile
equipment that provides additional covered space and can be used with
most regular tents. A tarp tent can be attached to the front or side
of the tent or used with walking poles to create a stand-alone
sheltered area. It is a great idea to practice how to set up your
tent and tarp tent in your backyard to get a notion how they work.
Sleeping Equipment
In addition to getting a tent, you will
also need to pick something to sleep in it. Air mattresses are a
great choice and are available in various sizes to suit different
needs. Electric pumps are also available and can take care of the
blowing work for you. There are also sleeping bags. If you are buying
a sleeping bag for kids, remember to choose something they can grow
into.
Cooler Box
Depending on where you decide to go
camping, you will need to carry at least some food and drink with you
on site. And for that, you will probably need a camping cooler box to
keep your food cold for a couple of days. You might be tempted to
purchase a large camping cooler box, but before you do, make sure
your new camping
cooler box fit in your car. Important features to look for
include ticker walls (they provide better insulation), good seals
around the lid and other openings (the better the seal the longer
your food and drink will stay cold), smooth surfaces (for ease of
cleaning), wheels and handles (for ease of grip and transport).
Lighting
In your first time camping, you may get
surprised how dark it is in the wilderness. Choose well the type of
lighting you want around the campsite, and how it will be powered up.
Don't consider campfires your only source of lighting. While
campfires are lovely, they won't help you when you are too far away
from it. There is a wide range of lighting options available for you
to choose from including electric, LED, gas, dual fuel and battery
operated. One of them will surely fit your needs and budget.
Folding Table and Chair
Relaxing is sure one of the most
important parts of camping. For that, you will need a couple of
folding chairs to sit and enjoy your drink at the end of the day. A
folding table is also a convenient camping accessory to take with you
as it will help you prepare the dinner and maybe serve for a game of
cards later.
