1. Marilyn Monroe
It's the all time world's favourite face; the famous coquette Marilyn Monroe. In fact, all her outfits are iconic, starting from the white dress which she wore in the film The Seven Year Itch back in 1955. Marilyn has always been seen as a women with an abundance of sex appeal, so every beach wear for women she ever wore quickly became a fashion obsession for the wide female masses. One such is the white one piece swimsuit, which curves at the waist. She wore it with bold red lipstick and a pearly white smile. Pretty tempting ha?
2. Farrah Fawcett
Imagine having a swimming suit, pose in it, and make a poster that will be sold in millions of copies and eventually end up in the Smithsonian? Well, Farrah Fawcett didn't have to imagine it; she lived it! Her iconic one piece red swimsuit brought her the part in the famous Charlie's Angels back in 1970's, and since the photo of her posing in the suit gained mass popularity, the Smithsonian eventually asked for the suit to be part of their collection. That so much isn't the reason why the red suit is so popular; it's the way Farrah wore it, with her perfect blond, gravity defying curls, her shining white smile and the perfect body.
3. Daniel Craig
Although James Bond has been looking breath-taking since the beginning (I should know, I've seen all James Bond movies), Daniel Craig is the one that made the small blue trunks a walking trend among the male population. The scene when he gets out of the sea with his perfectly shaped body and lagoon blue eyes that match the short blue trunks made a lot of women dwell in front of the screens and a lot of men to quickly hit the gym. It's bye bye to long, wide surf pants!
4. Montgomery Clift
There is something in guys with strong, defined leg muscles, besides the endless sexiness they emit! Montgomery Clift starred in the classic “From here to eternity” and showed incredible sense for beach styling. Unlike beach wear for women , that is mainly minimal, beach wear for men can often be covering those sexy legs, like the surf shorts. But, in Montgomery's case, the shorts with hibiscus prints combined with Cuban collar shirts were fantastic.
5. Brooke Shields
Have you watched the movie “Blue lagoon” ? Now here's a type of beach wear for women you don't see everyday; delicately torn drapes wrapped around Brooke's gorgeous body revealing just enough to make your fantasy burn. And that hair, long and strong, make the perfect beach look; barefaced, barefooted and completely undone. Or in today's terms, “all-natural” .
